In the PPN 2020 Needs Analysis, the issue of support for Tidy Towns groups emerged as a priority. Specifically, there was a call for a programme that would help groups to prepare for the 2021 National Competition. As a result, the Sligo PPN created a guide and expert videos to help groups to achieve this.
The Sligo PPN Network has commissioned local ecologists at Woodrow to deliver training for Sligo Tidy Towns groups involved with the National Competition. This program complements existing regional training initiatives and includes:

Sustainability was the theme of the second session. This included the key elements needed to be successful whilst being sustainable, project ideas by themes, sustainable development goals, as well as how to write your application for the National Competition.
Aoife Hughes, of Woodrow Sustainable Solutions Ltd, took us on a wonderful virtual tour of County Sligo. We started at the top of the mountains and worked our way down through woodlands and fens, all the way to the coast.
