Abbeyquarter Community Centre was established in September 1987. It is a focal meeting point for residents and voluntary groups and voluntary and statutory agencies. A Community Employment Scheme is in operation employing 25 workers. The environmental workers are instrumental in the upkeep of the estate. Also, an after-school support programme for primary school children is in place and various summer camps are carried out. An outreach programme is also in place for Older Persons. At present groups operating out of the centre are The Monday Morning Club which is held for over 50,s, members of this group sit on the committee overseeing the Cranmore Age Friendly Strategy. In addition a mixture of activities take place including Dance, Boxing & Pilates supported by SS&RP.
