In January 2021 we formed a committee to refurbish our dilapidated local hall which had fallen into a state of disrepair and closed for several years due to safety issues. Our local Public house had closed in March 2020 and never reopened, this meant the heart of our community was lost and people had no place to meet friends and neighbours, we are hoping when opened that we will have a vibrant community centre for the whole area, and beyond to enjoy. We also have built on an extension which now houses a before and after-school facility, this is also creating employment in the area as well as enhancing the local school as parents have a safe environment for their children to enjoy while being dropped off and collected out of school hours, which takes pressure off parents to arrange child minders.
