America Country in Cloonacool. A real treat for Country music and Bluegrass fans is on offer on Friday night, April 11, in the south Sligo village of Cloonacool. A group known as the Howard Hughes Project will strut their stuff with an exhibition in harmony singing and musicianship.
Husband and wife team, Lisa Kay Howard and Wally Hughes lead a lineup of musical friends on their latest Irish tour. Wally and Lisa have been performing music together for over 15 years and are based out of northern Virginia.
Wally and Lisa have been travelling musicians from a very young age. Wally plays many instruments equally well, and Lisa Kay specialises in the mandolin, but they really like to put the focus on their vocals, as they love to sing harmony! They are joined by long-time bandmemebr and friend Joe Hannabach on bass, and joined for the first time by Dean Phillips on banjo and Jack Dunlap on guitar.
The gig is also a fundraiser to assist with the Cloonacool Community Centre car park upgrade. This event also replaces the April monthly music session at the Cloonacool venue. There will be a €10 cover charge and a raffle on the night. All in all, it promises to be an exciting event at Cloonacool Community Centre on this Friday April 11 at 9pm. Booking is not essential
