Our group promotes the development of our local Forthill community and its resources. We are fortunate to have a meeting room in Forthill Community Centre where we meet every week. We have our own garden project on site. We have already been successful in delivering 7 projects but continue to try to complete our 8th which is the conservation and promotion of the Green Fort; a very large 17th c earthen fort. We seek to have this National Monument protected and promoted as a heritage, educational and tourist resource for Sligo town and county. We would like to bring about improved access to the Fort and, in time, the development of an interpretation centre for the site. We are assisted by voluntary facilitators including Martina Butler who is acting as our PPN contact person
