Aims: We believe that theatre should be for everyone. And this is reflected in our diverse programming. We aim to nurture and premier new and existing artists and engage our audiences in all aspects of the creative process. We believe that theatre feeds the soul and we strive to present work that entertains, challenges and delights. Objectives: Since 1982 the Hawk’s Well has been at the cultural heart of Sligo and has enlivened, entertained and amused the people of the region. This 340 seat theatre was created by the people, for the people as a place to play, perform, create and share living stories. An artistic centre of excellence, the Hawk’s Well offers the opportunity to attend artistic, musical and dramatic events throughout the year. We foster an interest in all art forms for all, particularly young people and provide a platform for those in the region who want to express themselves on the stage. Activities: Arts and Entertainment includes comedy, professional and amateur theatre, as well as a wide range of music from traditional to jazz and opera, plus dance, pantomime and children’s programmes. Community engagement and education in the form of workshops and public participation.
