Refined Feasible Options (the ‘Short List of Options’) for an upgrade of the N17 between Knock and Collooney have been published at www.n17knockcollooney.ie . In very simple terms, what this means is that Feasible Options (or the Long List of Options) which were published in October of 2020 have now been reduced down to a smaller number (Please note that a preferred option has not yet been picked).
The project specific website will continue to be used as the main platform to communicate information & updates to the public. Mapping of options can be accessed through https://n17knockcollooney.ie/mapping/ and should be utilised in the first instance to establish the location of options. In addition, the ‘News, Publications & Submissions’ page will contain all information publicly available at this stage (including a Public Information Note which for convenience is attached to this email).
The following are some key changes with regard to Communication and Information for this stage of the Options Selection process:
- Electronic communication (by way of an update) will issue to all individuals who have contacted the Sligo Project Office during Public Consultation Number 02;
- The Sligo Project Office will endeavour to write to every property registered within the corridors of the refined Feasible Options. This communication will be in the form of a postal advice note;
- For those who cannot access digital information; paper maps and other information will be provided at the following collection points:
o Mayo County Council, Áras an Chontae, The Mall, Castlebar, Co. Mayo F23 WF90;
o Mayo County Council, Claremorris Area Office, Kilcolman Rd, Claremorris, Co. Mayo, F12 P383;
o Sligo County Council County Hall, Riverside, Sligo, F91 Y763;
o Sligo County Council, Teach Laigne, Humbert Street, Tobercurry, Co Sligo, F91 Y328.
Telephone call backs which were very successful during Public Consultation No. 02 will continue to be utilised going forward. In addition, two number hotel dates will be facilitated for those who specifically wish to meet with the project team (Mc William Park Hotel on the 21st of September; and, the Sligo Park Hotel on the 23rd of September)
Should you have any specific queries, please do not hesitate to contact Fergus Meehan (Senior Executive Engineer/Project Manager) at 071 91 11968, or via email to n17knockcollooney@sligococo.ie.
