The New N4 Text Alert Area was set up in response to increased crime in the area after the opening of the New N4 between Collooney and Castlebaldwin. It is a text alert scheme with over 200 phone numbers/individuals signed up that the Gardai and organisers have access to. Some signage has been erected in the local area and Gardai issue alerts and appeals as and when necessary. We also host some info and educational sessions in conjunction with local Gardai and community groups e.g. How to protect your home and property.
