TAEKWON-DO FOR KIDS AGES 8-13 Mondays & Fridays (Sligo), 6.30pm – 7.30pm Fridays (Easkey), 6pm – 6.55pm Through our ‘Learn to Play and Practice’ programme for 8-13-year-olds we will: Emphasize safety, self-control and respect Consolidate and refine foundation Taekwon-Do skills Encourage learning the game (Taekwon-Do competition) Develop practical tactical knowledge for sparring that builds basic strategies for attack and defence Introduce decision making during sparring situations Take advantage of increased trainability for the development of Taekwon-Do specific skills Develop motor skills (agility, balance, coordination, rhythm, time/space orientation, speed, dexterity “hand-eye coordination”, etc) Introduce conditioning using primarily own body weight exercises Introduce fundamental mental skills that emphasize concentration, emotional control and confidence Facilitate cognitive development in areas such as recall, memory, concentration, problem-solving, communication and decision making Nurture psycho/social development: desire to be active, develop confidence, dedication and commitment, communication and relational skills TAEKWON-DO FOR TEENS AND ADULTS Mondays & Fridays (Sligo), 7.30pm – 8.45pm Fridays (Easkey), 7pm – 8pm​In need of some motivation to get up and workout? At Northwest Taekwon-Do Clubs – Sligo ITF, our classes are designed to make working out more enjoyable.​Through our Teen and Adult Classes you will: Develop flexibility, agility and coordination Learn the martial art and sport of Taekwon-Do Meet and train with dedicated and motivated individuals Become part of a team Challenge yourself in new ways Learn new skills and get more out of your body! Learn ITF Taekwon-Do patterns Learn semi-contact sparring in a controlled environment Have the option to compete throughout the year
