Plenary Meeting – 12th February 2015
The second Plenary Meeting of Sligo Public Participation Network took place on 1h February in the Sligo Park Hotel.
Community representatives from all over County Sligo came together to elect representatives to a number of important local policy making committees. The hotly contested elections for Sligo County Council’s Strategic Policy Committees and Sligo Local Community Development Committee saw 46 candidates battle it out for 12 seats in a closely fought competition. The high level of local interest in the new structures was reflected in the high number and calibre of the nominees, according to event organisers.
