The objectives of Sligo County Agricultural Show are to hold an Agricultural Show each summer in Riverstown, to do our absolute utmost to ensure it is fairly and safely enjoyed by all (including our volunteers), and donate a portion of our profits from each Show to our annual chosen charities or chosen sporting associations. The remaining profits go towards the continuation and development of the annual Show. We support the livelihoods of farmers by giving them opportunities to showcase their animals, home grown vegetables, home baking, photography, art etc. We also plug a wide range of businesses as part of our sponsorship programme. The County Show had been held in Sligo Town for over 100 years, and when it closed the community of Riverstown came together to ensure its survival for the benefit of farmers throughout our region. It has been held in Riverstown since 1994. It is a fun day out for all the family, and gives families who are not involved in farming an opportunity to appreciate the great work farmers do.
