Sligo Orpheus Choir was founded in 1975 to continue Sligo’s fine reputation in choral singing. The Choir has established itself as the foremost choir in the North West for the quality of its performance and its range of programming.building upon a tradition that combines musical excellence with creativity and innovation .The choir has performed at the National concert hall Has sung Haydn’s Creation with the English Festival Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall .The Orpheus and has performed most of the major Oratorios with Ireland’s foremost conductors and orchestras and has made many successful T.V. appearances, Our extensive and varied repertoire range from a Capella to the mainstream choral repertoire.We have in recent years completed a short concert tour’s of France 2015 and Iceland 2017 to wide acclaim. We host Open Night’s each May and Sept. during which anyone is welcome to come and join our rehearsal and enjoy the experience.
