Sligo Purple Flag working group is a voluntary group set up in 2014. The group is cross sector and manages the annual application for the retention of the award. Purple Flag is awarded to those destinations that reach a standard of excellence in the evening and night time economy with a diverse cultural offering – non alcohol dependent. Currently there are 23 Purple Flag towns and cities in the ROI.
