Sport & Recreation Partnership

Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership aims to support increased participation in sport and active recreation throughout County Sligo. In achieving this they provide assistance in the areas of sports development, education and training and general information on sporting activities in Sligo. They work in partnership with sporting clubs, community organisations and local agencies in achieving the goal of having MORE PEOPLE, MORE ACTIVE, MORE OFTEN.

Nominated Board Members have the capacity and experience that will enable them to take a cross-sectoral and strategic view of sport and recreational development within the County and are responsible for overseeing the running of the Partnership Company.

Paul O’Sullivan

Paul has an in depth knowledge of charity regulations and governance.He has strong Strategic management and organsational skills, an understanding of Charity Financial reporting, health and safety issues and excellent communication skills.

Paul has excellent understanding of activities such as Mountaineering, Cycling and Kayaking having being involved in them at a high level of participation.

Geraldine Delorey

Geraldine brings a wealth of experience from her professional days of working with older adults in Health sector services. She is acutely aware of the strong links between regular exercise and participation in sporting activities with good physical and mental health in older adults. Geraldine has experience of devising and managing programmes that meet the needs of older adults in a way that is accessible and delivers maximum benefits to the adults she would advocate for and represent on the Board. Geraldine knows the work of volunteers and the supports that are required to help deliver activities locally while being versed in the requirements of good governance also.
